The Northeastern Oklahoma Fly Fishing Club promotes fly fishing in Northeastern Oklahoma.  Its members are interested in fly fishing for all species available in the region.  This includes smallmouth bass, largemouth basss, striped bass, sand bass (white bass), sunfish, trout and other species in the region. We promote conservation of the fisheries and typically practice catch and release.  Being located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the club has particular interest in the upper and lower Illinois River and its tributaries.  The website of the club can be accesed at www.okieflyfishers.org.

The club conducts monthly business meetings at 7:00 pm on the last Monday of each month (except for holidays, check the website for re-scheduling).  It also has outings during fishing seasons.  E-Mail is typically utilized to advise members of locations of meetings and time and location of the outings.

A monthly fly tying contest is held at the monthly meetings.  Member participation is encouraged but not required.  Rules for the contest can be obtained on the link Fly Tying Contest.

Membership dues are $12.00 per annum for an individual and $20.00 per annum for a family and are due in January of each year.

The club hosts the Smallmouth Rendezvous (SMR) during the last week-end of April or the first week-end of May each year.  The SMR has been an annual event since 2001. This meeting brings together fly fishermen(women) and fly tiers from Oklahoma and neighboring states to share stories, techniques and knowledge about angling for "brownies".
